Rejection Is Protection: How Losing a Home Taught Me About Alignment and True Wealth
For 13 years, I’ve lived in the same house. It’s where I raised my son, built memories, and created a sense of stability. When the chance came to buy it, I thought everything was lining up. I imagined signing the papers and finally calling it mine.
My landlord mentioned selling, but I could tell he wasn’t fully committed. He asked for $230,000, yet the VA appraisal came in lower. Because of that, the deal collapsed.
At first, I felt crushed. This was the house I thought I was supposed to own. I replayed the process in my head, wondering what I could have done differently. But after sitting with it, I remembered something I’ve learned many times before: what’s meant for me will never pass me by.
Rejection as Protection
The truth is, if this house was truly mine, everything would have fallen into place. The appraisal would have matched. The paperwork would have flowed. My landlord would have been ready to let it go. Instead, the process met resistance at every step.
That’s when I reminded myself: rejection isn’t failure, it’s protection. Life doesn’t waste time holding on to what doesn’t belong to us. If something doesn’t work out, it’s because something better is waiting.
So instead of treating rejection as a closed door, I see it as redirection. It’s life’s way of saying, “This isn’t your path. Keep flowing forward.”
Staying in Flow and Alignment
This experience reminded me of how important it is to stay in flow and alignment.
When we push too hard, we exhaust ourselves trying to make things happen. But when we release control, we open space for the right opportunities. Flow doesn’t mean being passive—it means being responsive. It means trusting that life knows the timing better than we do.
I’m still on a wealth-building journey. I want to grow my finances, invest, and create a strong foundation for my family. But I also know that wealth means nothing if my soul isn’t aligned. A house, money, or status doesn’t matter if it pulls me away from who I truly am.
For me, alignment is about remembering my purpose: to be an expression of the Creator. To live as inspiration. To show others what’s possible when you walk your path in truth.
What Is True Wealth?
That brings me to the question I’ve been asking myself: what is wealth really?
Is it the number in a bank account? The car in a driveway? The clothes in a closet? Maybe for some. But I’ve realized wealth isn’t just about money or material things.
Wealth is peace. Wealth is freedom. Wealth is the ability to live as the person you were created to be.
When you are aligned, money and opportunities flow as a natural result. When you chase money without purpose, you can gain it all and still feel empty inside.
Lessons From Losing the House
Not getting this house was disappointing, but it came with lessons I needed to learn:
- Trust the timing. What’s yours will align. You won’t need to force it.
- Reframe rejection. Closed doors aren’t the end. They’re redirection.
- Stay in flow. Resistance can be a sign to pause or change direction.
- Redefine wealth. True wealth is alignment, not just possessions.
- Hold space for more. If one thing doesn’t work, something better is coming.
Walking a Soul-Aligned Wealth Journey
As I continue building wealth, I know I want more than just money. I want soul-aligned wealth—wealth that feels right in my spirit.
That means choosing patience when things don’t align. That means allowing life to guide me, instead of trying to control every detail. And it means trusting that what belongs to me cannot miss me.
I believe the Creator already mapped out the right path. My role is to listen, flow, and trust. When I do, I find myself in the right places at the right times. That’s where true wealth begins.
A Question for You
Now I want to ask you: what does wealth mean to you?
Is it owning a house, earning a certain income, or gaining status? Or is it peace of mind? Is it freedom? Is it living your soul’s purpose every single day?
These are questions worth asking. And the answers will shape how you build your life.
Closing Thoughts
Losing out on this home wasn’t easy, but it was necessary. The universe protected me. It kept me aligned. It reminded me that rejection isn’t the end—it’s guidance.
As much as I wanted this house, I want alignment more. With alignment, I trust that the right opportunities will appear. And when they do, I’ll be ready to say yes.
